Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as stocking supplies, to preparing the church bulletins.
Please note: If you are assigned to a Sunday and are unable to assist that day it is your responsibility to find a replacement. Thank you for your help in making our Sundays run smoothly.  Check your Membership handbook for worship assistant lists and contact information.  Your help is very much appreciated.

Trustee of the Week

Thank you for taking on the Trustee of the week responsibilities! This is a very important role in our church. We ask that you as Trustee of the Week be aware of the churches weekly needs as well as the items listed below.

The Church
Setting the comfort level of the church for all weekly activities and Sundays.

The Sanctuary
The Thermostat on the east wall, by the door controls the heat and air for the Sanctuary.
  1. For air conditioning, the thermostat should be turned down to 73 degrees and turned back up to 82 after the service.
  2. For heat, the thermostat should be turned up to 70 degrees and turned back down to 62 degrees after the service
The air conditioner or heat needs to be turned on Saturday so that the Sanctuary is cooled or heated for the Sunday Service.  With the service starting at 10am, the air conditioner or heat will not need to be started until evening unless it has been very cold.

The Nursery
The nursery has supplemental electrical heat that can be turned up by the occupants.   It should be turned down to 55 degrees when not in use.  The door needs to be closed to retain heat from the hot water system which runs continually.

The Fellowship Hall
The thermostat on the east wall, by the entry door controls heat and air for the Fellowship Hall.
  1. For air conditioning, the thermostat should be turned down to 73 degrees and turned back up to 82 after the service.
  2. For heat, the thermostat should be turned up to 70 degrees and turned back down to 62 degrees after the service
The thermostat can be changed mid-afternoon, to provide cooling or heating for an evening event.

Wednesday
Community meal is scheduled on the 4th Wednesday night of each month.

Other Activities
Are shown on the monthly Messenger or Weekly Calendar of events in the Sunday Bulletin or online.
*Remember to check the church calendar to see if the thermostat should be left up or down for an event.

*Remember to also
  1. Checking for water drips and/or leaks.
  2. Unlocking doors when needed.
  3. Removing snow and ice build-up; ice melt, salt, etc., especially on Sunday mornings.
When other needs come up, they will be added to the above list. If you are unable to serve, call another person to trade or sub for you.
Again, thank you for helping in this area of need!
